Educators use her books ,scripts and literacy material. ‘Not Just a Piece of Cake; Being an Authorʼ is her memoir of being a risk-taking ‘ideasʼ author. Hazel was given the Monash University Distinguished alumni award for Education in 2022 and has an OAM for contributions to Literature.
